Farm Table Restoration

This project was not your typical furniture project. This was more of a restoration project rather than a from scratch build, however, this is one of the most important projects I have ever completed. This table has been in my wife’s family since her grandmother was a little girl in the rural delta going back almost 100 years. The table needed to be disassembled with care, sanded down past the painted finishes, treated with oxalic acid, wood bow-ties added to fix splitting, cleaning out of old tenons, flattened with a steal frame, and then refinished. It took awhile to get the table all put back together but it was all worth it. This table now sees daily use as the kitchen table in our home.
